The Coach’s Corner

Welcome to RotoRadar’s latest addition to its collection of tools and aids to help DFS players: “The Coach’s Corner”! In every sport there are athletes and coach(es). Most people don’t realize how important the relationship between players and coaches are to the success of a team. You can have a group of top athletes, but they will fail to live up to their potential without proper coaching, instruction, motivation, and team chemistry.

Here at RotoRadar we provide you with the best content on how to win in DFS. We provide you daily player picks and lineups to optimize your chances of winning. However, information alone is not going to help you win in the long term. What sets RotoRadar apart is that our DFS Pros and COACH engage in discussion with members and help them to better understand and best utilize the content we provide daily. This is the purpose of COACH’s CORNER. This article is your daily one-stop read for advice, strategy, instruction, and motivation for succeeding in DFS. For the best preparation, read both the daily Pros’ (Brittinghamt and TwoMindsBluff) articles and The Coach’s Corner. Carefully studying this content will significantly increase your DFS knowledge and chances of winning on any given night.

MLB Main Slate Strategy

Welcome to a fresh week of MLB DFS! We have a 6 game MLB DFS main slate tonight! Tonight, I am recommending 4% of your BR at 70%-30% CASH to GPP.

Weather News:

Weather updates can be found from Kevin Roth at https://rotogrinders.com/weather/mlb

WEATHER NOTICE:

Summer is quickly arriving and the weather is heating up. Baseball is a sport that is heavily affected by weather. Temperature, humidity, air density, and rain are important factors day to day. Expect run totals and HR totals to continue to rise as the summer takes full force.

Line-up Construction Strategy:

Pitchers:

Pitching is crucial tonight (esp. in CASH LU’s). There is only two clear top tier pitching match-ups tonight. Outside the two there are a few GPP options that are good for value and salary savings.

Top tier pitchers:

  1. Chris Sale vs MIN
  2. Carlos Carrasco vs TEX

GPP Pitching options:

  1. Jose Berrios vs BOS
  2. Gio Gonzalez vs CHC
  3. Jeff Samardzjia vs COL
  4. German Marquez vs SFG

NOTE: For in depth pitching analysis and match-up breakdown, check out the “On the RotoRadar” podcast and the PRO articles.

High upside Batter Stacks:

  1. NYY vs David Holmberg (CHW)
  2. LAD vs Ricky Nolasco (LAA)
  3. COL vs Jeff Samardzija (SFG)

Top BvP match-ups *updated in the afternoon*:

Contest Breakdown (70%-30% CASH TO GPP)

CASH – 50/50, Double-ups, H2H, 3-5 user leagues

Tonight, I recommend diversifying entries between 50-50’s, 2x’s, and 3-5 user leagues. I think 50-50’s and 2x’s will be chalky with Sale. To increase your ROI and have a floor, I recommend a 3:1 ratio between 50-50’s and 2x’s : 3-5 user leagues.

GPP – $5 and above Multi-entries, 10-20 user leagues, 100 user leagues, $5 and above single entries, QUINT’s.

Tonight, I recommend playing multi-entries (esp. 3 entry max) to diversify entries. With only two top tier pitchers, there will be a variety of GPP lineup builds that have the upside to win BIG! Running 3-5 different lineups in GPP’s will give you exposure to a smaller slate. I highly recommend utilizing the NEW RotoRadar OPTO-mizer by plugging in 3-4 stacks and letting the OPTO build around a core group of players.

* You will notice that I recommend $5 and above for GPP’s. The reason being that the below $5 range has so many entries with a top-heavy payout structure. My recommendation to win a GPP is to go for smaller fields with highest upside. Playing higher $ GPP’s generally means a smaller field and less likely max entries.

Official LU notifications will be posted to chat! Good Skill! @DavidRotoRadar
